HIGHLIGHTS DAY 16: JULY 1, 2007

As we draw closer to the end of The Stand on Church Street, we've been able to see that God has truly given us this territory in the Spirit. The day started off calm, and as we proceeded, there was quite a bit profanity and rude gestures coming from "passer-byers". We believe God is continually showing us how to live out loud with silence and humility as we walk in the Spirit. The vision and the job we have now is to stand and believe for results. We feel that ownership of Christ has come to Church Street. If you drive down this street, you'll sense a calmness and a quietness that has never been felt before. God has given us the authority to walk in the Spirit as we are winning this battle against the spirit of pornography.

The following scriptures are foundational for The Stand in this city: 2 Corinthians 6:16-18: "In one agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the Living God and God has said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them, I will be their God and they shall be my people, therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 7:1 "Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." To truly walk out the word of God in this way, we must be quick to repent and quick to respond.

Repentance is a key that can unlock many doors of bitterness and anger. Repentance not only accepts responsibility for the part that we have played in building walls of religion, race and disunity, but also in turning away from the behavior that has built these walls. For the Body of Christ to come to health; repentance, regret, confession and action is needed. If we do these things, Christ will be honored within the reconciliation of all relationships. We, as a city Church, must restore our relationship with Christ and grow as one Body with many congregations in this city.
