JOURNAL ENTRY DAY 9: JUNE 24, 2007

Ah, the refreshing rains from heaven gently sprinkled down on us. It was just enough to cool the land and put a mist in the air. Personally, I wondered how many would be die hard enough to show up with the uncertainty of the weather. Around twenty brave warriors came to stand and intercede. God has always been faithful with the weather for us; the storm usually comes after we leave.

This day was simply encouragement from the Lord. He did so many things for us to boost moral and smile down on us. For every one person that yelled something derogatory or shook their head in disproval, seven thanked us, gave us thumbs up or a wave of appreciation. My favorite are the children sitting in back seats that look over at us with these mesmerizing looks on their faces. I look at them and give a big smile that quickly becomes contagious and reciprocates. Their little minds are turning, and as they drive away I can see them asking their parents what is going on or what is that place? It strikes up a conversation that hopefully provokes righteousness.

Encouragement was all around and in many forms. Suddenly, out of know where, a sound penetrates the noise of the city. I look, and this little woman is walking toward me bellowing out this angelic song to the Lord. She sings over the clamoring sounds of cars, trucks and sirens. She sings, “Lord, I am available to you.” As she gets to the corner where I am standing she stops and doesn’t cross the street. I look at the smile on this woman’s face and see the joy she emits in her song. Her body looks frail and her teeth are missing, yet the pipes she has inside of her overpower the city. The warriors are standing on the wall and this woman turns toward them as to serenade them with her song to the King. I stand in awe of the Lord as this little angel brings some to tears. God is so good and His mercy endures forever. How He encourages those who stand for Him.

Earlier a man had passed by wondering what we were doing. I handed him a flier as he drove off. Later this man returns with his hand extended. He came back and parked to thank us for taking a stand for truth. He kept proclaiming how amazed he was and how successful we will be. He said, “Thank you for improving the quality of life.” He went on to talk about the first amendment and how it was not created for people just to fly off any opinion. He stated it was meant to protect truth. He said, “That is what you guys are doing. You are protecting and spreading truth. You can’t argue with truth.” He encouraged us to keep standing and gave his blessing.

In the midst of battle there is safety and rest. As long as we are secured and established in His will we cannot be defeated, discouraged or dismayed. So, be strong in the Lord and Stand. Righteousness will prevail and the roar of a generation is thundering across this land.
